Fall River Public Schools is proud to announce that Edmond P. Talbot Middle School has been selected as one of just eight schools nationwide to participate in the Smithsonian Science Education Center's 2026 Strategic Planning Institute, the first step in a three-year journey toward becoming a Smithsonian STEAM School of Distinction.

Learning is in full swing at our Preschool Extended School Year (ESY) Program!

This summer, 70 preschool students are participating in our ESY program at the Early Learning Center, where all Fall River Public Schools preschool students will be enrolled for the upcoming school year.

Students enrolled in our MLL Summer Enrichment Camp at the Henry Lord Community School took learning beyond the classroom yesterday with a field trip to Southwick's Zoo in Mendon, Massachusetts.

Fall River Public Schools Interim Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Smith is pleased to announce the appointment of Julie Olobri as the new Principal of the John J. Doran Community School, effective July 20, 2026.

Mrs. Olobri returns to Fall River Public Schools, where she previously served as a classroom teacher for five years. She brings extensive experience in urban education, school leadership, educator development, and instructional excellence.

Fall River Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Rebecca Woodcock as the new Principal of Spencer Borden Elementary School.

A respected educator and school leader with more than 27 years of experience in public education, Woodcock most recently served as Assistant Principal at North Elementary School in Somerset.
